Singer Errol Brown has lost his battle with liver cancer at the age of 71.  The Hot Chocolate frontman passed away at his home in the Bahamas on Wednesday (06May15).
Brown's big break in music came in 1969, when he recorded a version of John Lennon's Give Peace a Chance. He sent the recording to executives at the Beatles' Apple record label and it was released with Lennon's approval.
Brown went on to form Hot Chocolate with Tony Wilson and the group enjoyed worldwide chart success with hits like You Sexy Thing, Everyone's a Winner and It Started With a Kiss.
He was awarded a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) medal by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 and received an Ivor Novello Award for lifetime achievement in 2004.
