Queen Elizabeth dines at local pub in Edinburgh

Last Friday Her Majesty gave her seal of approval to a little pub in Edinburgh called The Sheep Heid Inn.

During a fleeting visit, Queen Elizabeth opted for a window seat in the bar with her entourage - with patrons in shock, given the fact that Her Majesty never dines out.

The table ordered a martini and half a bottle of white wine, along with two portions of lamb and a fillet of seabass. The main meals were advertised for around 16 pounds on their regular menu.

The exclusive Bellamy's restaurant in Mayfair is believed to be the only restaurant where she has eaten at in London.

Staff were given 1 hour of notice before her arrival. The Inn was opened in 1360 and has been linked to the Royal family since the 1580s.
