On the first day of May in 1967, Elvis Presley and Priscilla Beaulieu are married in front of friends and family at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.
The couple's weeding was arranged by "Colonel Tom" Parker, Elvis' manager who at the time was said to haved pushed Elvis into the marriage with Priscilla to save his appearance, after claims he was being unfaithful surfaced. Priscilla would go on to say the unfaithful claims were not true.
"Colonel Tom" used their wedding to further boost Elvis' image, and to maximize publicity the occasioin featured very few guests and was over in only eight minutes.
Following the reception, Elvis and Priscilla took a private jet on a short honeymoon in Palm Springs, where they returned on the 4th back in Memphis, where they retreated to their private ranch for a three-week break.
