So you feel like you’re paying through the nose for your power? Well you are.
This line graph below, from the Electricity Authority, indicates how your power prices have risen since 2004. It’s clear your prices have risen about 70 percent since 2004.
And this graph shows that the reason for the price increases over the last three years is largely down to fixed line costs, like the transmission lines – not the actual price of power.
We’ll debate all this, this afternoon. I want your stories. What can we do to get the fixed portion of our bills down and is there any way we can get cheaper power?
