Pixie, Lisa Owen’s cat, launched herself out of a second story window this weekend. This got Lisa wondering - why do cats always land on their feet like her own cat did?

Dr Kat Littlewood from the Institute of Vet, Animal & Biomedical Science, College of Sciences joins Lisa on The Long Lunch to explain why.

Landing on their feet is a reflex that uses many parts of a cat’s body, including the legs and spine.

Their spine is really flexible and really bendy so it can twist really easily.
