Police have been involved in a chase where a man fled in a car with a baby on board.
A police media spokesperson said after a short pursuit, police stopped the 26-year-old man's car in Plimmerton, near Porirua, to find the young child in the vehicle.
Police were worried about the man not stopping for them after being called to a family incident.

Top lawyer Deborah Manning is one who is greatly opposed to police chases and says they should cease immediately for everything other than very serious crimes.
Ms Manning joined Ryan Bridge and Lisa Owen on RadioLIVE Drive.
