A psychotherapist makes a case that parents should be compensated for raising their young children.
Psychotherapist Kyle MacDonald told RadioLIVE that the Government’s ECE subsidy, which funds up to 20 hours a week for early childhood education services, should be applied to parents who wish to take on the responsibility themselves.
“Why can’t that go to the parents?” he asked.
Mr MacDonald argues that all families should have the choice to raise their kids at home, but not all can because of financial reasons.
“It’s actually about paying the child. Essentially its giving them funding to put them in the most optimal situation,” he told RadioLIVE.
