How does agri-tech in England compare to New Zealand?

Rural Exchange 23/06/2018

Last week’s 50th Fieldays had many international business visitors attend that were attracted by New Zealand's buoyant agri-tech sector.

Invest in Cornwall's (IIC) attendance aimed to strengthen the UK firm's relationships with government officials, accelerator programmes and business leaders in New Zealand.

Working alongside the British High Commission as well as the Agri-Tech Cornwall project, the objective of IIC is to attract and support innovative, forward-thinking businesses into the UK's most ambitious region.

Seventy percent of Cornwall is farmland, and it has been a popular farming area for many years. However, the region is currently in need of an agri-tech injection.

Nicola Lloyd, Head of Inward Investment for IIC, says they "look to New Zealand as leading the way in agri-tech".
