Last year's Young Farmer of the Year on life after winning

The countdown is on to one of the year's biggest events on the rural calendar.

On Saturday 7th July, the 50th FMG Young Farmer of the Year is taking place in Invercargill and will be live-streamed on

The event will be hosted by Te Radar and Rural Exchange co-host Sarah Perriam.

Since it’s humble beginnings as the Skellerup run radio show in 1969, the history of the competition is part of the fabric of our rural culture.

The winner of last year's event Nigel Woodhead is looking forward to being part of the exciting 50th edition of the event.

Mr Woodhead joined Rural Exchange to discuss life since winning the title, his role in the competition, and what the finalists should be expecting.
