Positive effects to come from climate change workshops

Rural Exchange 08/07/2018

DairyNZ, AgResearch and the Ministry for Environment have just finished a series of regional climate change workshops for dairy farmers around the country.

There have been eight workshops, aimed at informing farmers of climate change research and the policies currently being considered by the government.

Milena Scott, a climate change scientist for Dairy NZ, says the environmental work being done up and down the country is already helping to reduce emissions.

The goal is to keep this positive turnaround continuing.

"Right now we're working with farmers to help optimise their farm systems which will help assist in reducing biological emissions."
