The Fishing Show: In case you missed it

The Fishing Show 27/10/2018

Spring fishing is in full swing right around New Zealand. If you missed The Fishing Show, here are the best bits from Friday, October 26th 2018.

Spring fishing in the Hauraki Gulf

The Fishing Show hosts Scott Walker and John Eichelsheim check in with fishos up and down the country. First up Bruce Duncan makes a welcome return to the The Fishing Show. Captain Swish has been enjoying great fishing, but reckons it will get even better over the next few weeks.

Snapper and kingfish around Northland

Then Warren Hay joins the show with a run-down on the spectacular fishing currently being enjoyed around the Northland region. Bream Bay in particular is really firing for snapper and kingfish.

Lots of variety down in Wellington

Heading down to Wellington, it’s a similar story for the harbour and all three coasts, says Fishing Show regular Steve Reed. Lots of variety and great sizes too, for boat and shore fishers alike.

Summer species biting early in Canterbury

Our final guest is Ben Booth. Ben has encouraging news for Canterbury shore-based and boat fishers, who are seeing an early influx of summer species, including kingfish. A trophy trout and salmon specialist, Ben is pleased to report the McKenzie Country canals are fishing as well as ever and offers some handy fishing tips for the changing seasons.
