Newshub rugby editor Ross Karl kicked off the show today, he spoke with Brendan Telfer live from the main road in Nelson where a parade was being held to celebrate the first ever All Blacks game at Trafalgar Park.

Auckland put Tasman to the sword in the Mitre 10 Cup

It's been a long time since Auckland played so well in a provincial rugby competition. They're 4 from 4 so far this year and sit on top of the Mitre 10 Cup table after thrashing Tasman 36-10 last night.

The side was led by a brilliant first half hat-trick to rampaging forward Patrick Tuipolotu. Brendan Telfer talked with Auckland coach and former All Black Alama Ieremia, who says he's "very proud of the boys" after last night's win.

All eyes on the Warriors' playoff game tonight

It's do-or-die tonight for the Warriors as they play their first NRL playoff game in 7 years against the Penrith Panthers. A win would see the Warriors play the loser of tonight's second NRL playoff game between Roosters and the Sharks next weekend.

Injury during semi-final forces Nadal to withdraw from the US Open

After losing the first two sets to Juan Martin del Potro in the US Open semi-final, Rafael Nadal's lingering knee injury saw the Spaniard retire hurt. Now del Potro will face Serbian Novak Djokovic in the US Open 2018 final.
