Albums From The Class of ’78: Wire - Chairs Missing

Weekend Variety Wireless 11/02/2018

Music Critic Grant Smithies and Graeme delve into the second album in Wire’s massively influential and revolutionary masterpiece trilogy: Chairs Missing.

Just a year after their stunning sharp and bristling debut, Pink Flag, Wire developed a deeper, darker and more complex sound. It’s almost impossible to cite how many artists Wire has influenced. You could mention every single Flying Nun act for a start.

They discuss how the band are not sticking with any fast and angry subject manner that is deemed "apropriate" for punk songs, which is really noticeable on all their records.

Graeme also plays a few of their songs for you to enjoy.
