Max Cryer joins RadioLIVE's Graeme Hill to banter over words, their origin and meaning.

He takes a look at the real origin of rugby, ahead of the Bledisloe Cup match between the All Blacks and Wallabies.

Mr Cryer also asks the question – have you ever said the phrase “pretty ugly” and then tought about what you were saying?

He explains if “jewellery” has any connection to Jews, and also looks at getting “shirty” and the phrase “warts-and-all”.

Mr Cryer also explores what a “creed” is and where it comes from.

If you are interested in the origin of a word or phrase, e-mail your wordy questions to Graeme here and he’ll forward them to Max.
