World-renowned conductor, musical director and passionate educator Richard Gill died last week.

He was a regular guest on RadioLIVE's Weekend Variety Wireless programme.

To reflect on his impressive life and dedication to music, Graeme Hill replayed Mr Gill breezily discussing Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony - one of the most recognisable pieces of music ever composed.

In March 2016, Mr Gill conducted the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra to unwrap Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Mr Gill will be sorely missed.
