It’s been a long time between drinks for the lamb sector, according to ASB’s latest Farmshed Economics Report.
Nathan Penny, ASB rural economist and co-author of the report, admits when lamb prices lifted this year, it surprised everyone - including him.

“We think prices can stay healthy through the season,” he says
Looking at New Zealand’s various farming industries, Mr Penny remarks that “it’s hard to find a sector where we’ve got weakness.”
