Quadriplegic drone operator captures the most incredible footage of whales swimming with paddle boarder
A drone flyer managed to capture the most amazing footage of 2 whales swimming next to a paddle boarder off the coast of Esperance in Western Australia.
Videographer Jaimen Hudson, an Esperance local, survived a serious motorbike accident and which caused him to lose functionality in some of his limbs. Despite not being able to use his fingers, he is able to control the drone using his thumbs and shoulders.
Hudson told Mashable Australia, "It just so happened that he was out at the time, and a few people let me know there were whales on the beach and it all just went from there. They were really curious and came over to meet Dave [paddle boarder]... just very inquisitive about him, I don't think it was really that dangerous at all."
The footage was captured on a DJI Phantom 3 drone which can fly up to 1.2 kilometres away from its controller.
