Yoko Ono attempts to break human peace sign world record

As a tribute to her late husband of 11 years, Yoko Ono attempted to form the world's largest human peace sign at Central Park, New York on Tuesday.

The tribute would have marked John Lennon's 75th birthday this week.

With only 2,000 individuals in attendance, Ono was 3,000 off breaking the world record.

Following the event Yoko tweeted:
Donations from the event went towards the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus - a charity which aims to give music students the opportunity to record their music.

Lennon died in December 1980 at age 40 after being shot five times in the back by Mark David Chapman in New York.
