Over the weekend at Aretha Franklin's funeral, Stevie Wonder closed the event with an emotional performance of "The Lord's Prayer" and "As". You can watch the full video above.
The funeral was held at Detroit's Greater Grace Temple, where Stevie Wonder began his performance playing "The Lord's Prayer" on the harmonica before delivering a short eulogy for Franklin, "We will have never known a Queen like this, we will have never known the joy she brought to us".
The reason that we are here today is because of love. Because of how much we love this woman.
“The greatest gift that has been given in life itself is love. We can talk about all the things that are wrong, and there are many, but the only thing that can deliver us is love,” Wonder added. “We need to make love great again.”
Among the artists that performed tributes were Ariana Grande, Jennifer Judson and Chaka Khan, while Bill Clinton, Clive Davis and Smokey Robinson contributed eulogies to the late singer.
Detroit mayor has also announced that a waterfront venue in Motor City would also be renamed as Aretha Franklin Park.
