Five young actors have tested for the part of the King of Rock and Roll in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming Elvis Presley biopic.
According to the Hollywood Reporter on the short list is Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Austin Butler, Harry Styles, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
All five actors have tested for the director and an announcement is expected in the coming days as to who will be cast to play the King of Rock and Roll in the upcoming biopic which will track Elvis' rise to fame.
Tom Hanks has already been confirmed as Col. Tom Parker, Elvis Presley’s manager.
It has been reported that the film will focus on the tempestuos relationship between Elvis and Parker.
Harry Styles made his screen debut in a much lauded appearance in Dunkirk, while Ansel Elgort is currently filming Steven Spielberg's remake of West Side Story.
Austin Butler stars in a role in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, whereas Aaron Taylor-Johnson canbe recognised from his performances in Kick-Ass and his critically acclaimed turn as John Lennon in Nowhere Boy.
Miles Teller meanwhile began his early career with a supporting role in 2011's Footloose and stars in the upcoming Top Gun sequel.
