Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson has shared a petition in an attempt to stop a Beach Boys concert from taking place at a convention of hunters Wednesday
February 5.

In a tweet Wilson shares that the Beach Boys touring group, licensed by cousin and co founder Mike Love, will be headlining at the Safari Club International Convention in Nevada, USA.

In a further tweet he says, “This organization supports trophy hunting, which both Al [Jardine, co-founder and friend] and I are emphatically opposed to.”

Wilson then includes a link to the petition on Change.org, which states that the convention supports trophy hunting with “870 companies ... selling trophy hunting holidays and wildlife body parts including animal heads this year."

The convention also features a keynote speech from President Trump’s Son Donald Trump Jr, the petition concludes by promising to boycott the groups music, concerts and merchandise if the group doesn’t pull out from the convention and "publicly state their opposition to this sick ‘sport’ of killing animals for ‘fun.'"

Almost 62,000 signatures have been added to the petition with a goal of 75,000.
