Elvis fans are in for a treat later this year, with three new collections due to emerge in anticipation of the 50th anniversary of two 1969 milestones.
The biggest of the collections will be Live 1969 - a celebration of Presley’s 57-show residency in the Las Vegas International Hotel. Purchasers will receive an 11 CD set featuring unreleased material from The King. The set also comes with a 52-page booklet of memorabilia, photos and an oral history.
RCA and Legacy are also set to release a 2x LP called Live at the International Hotel, Las Vegas, NV August 26, 1969.
The 1969 return of Elvis, for the first time in eight years, saw Presley perform 57 sold-out shows and the live debut of Suspicious Minds. During this period he was supported by two vocal groups (The Imperials and The Sweet Inspirations), a full orchestra, and a band later known as the TCB band.
Fans will now be able to relive those Vegas shows from the comfort of their own homes, and experience the talent and poise of one of the founding fathers of rock n’ roll.
Both sets will be available on August 9th both digitally and physically. Live 1969 can be pre-ordered here.
Track lists and full details for the sets are available via the Sony Legacy Recordings website.
