From The Beatle's White AlbumBlackbird is a track written by McCartney, himself although it is credited to Lennon-McCartney.

While the song is inspired by the blackbird calls in Rishikesh, India, Sir Macca explains that the song was about black people's civil rights struggle in the U.S. in 1960s after reading about the racial riots.

  • Only three sounds were recorded for this song : Sir Macca's vocals, his Martin D-28 acoustic guitar and his shoe tapping.
  • The bird sounds were added in later using sound effects.
  • The song was written in Scotland right after the incident in Little Rock, when federal courts forced racial desegregation of Arkansas' capital's school system.
  • This is one of the Beatles songs Sir Macca performed on his Wings Over Americatour in 1976.
  • McCartney also wrote a book titled "Blackbird Singing".
