Kiwi calls out Auckland Transport for wheelchair accessibility

News 04/03/2019

A Kiwi secondary school teacher has taken to Twitter to vent about wheelchair access on Auckland roads.

He has expressed his anger after having to 'try not to die' while getting into his car on Auckland's busy Broadway in Newmarket.

In a startling video, Red can be seen having to drive passed his car on the footpath, down to the pedestrian crossing, where he then has to turn into oncoming traffic and drive down the road to access his car.

Red urges Auckland Transport to fix the footpaths to add in a sloped curb to help wheelchair users and others with disabilities be able to access their cars with ease.
