What a big, busy Friday it has been today. The National Party held an emergency caucus at midday today to decide who would be their new leader, and it's bye-bye Simon Bridges and Paula Bennett, and hello Todd Muller and Nikki Kaye.
Muller addressed the media in a press conference shortly after being elected the new National Party leader, where he delivered "well written and weighed" speech, which John Banks thinks would have taken about 30 hours to write.
In that speech, Muller commended the current government for it's handling of the COVID-19 health crisis, but also focused on how his new led National Party can help New Zealand through the economic crisis we now face.
John Banks shares his thoughts on the elected Todd Muller, and how it impacts the upcoming election.
