How soon is too soon for mothers to go back to work after giving birth?

From today (1 July), a working parent will be able to get 26 weeks of paid leave, up from 22 weeks.

Is that too long? Not long enough? How long after giving birth should parents return to work?

Someone who has been looking at how our day-to-day interactions with children and young people affect later outcomes for them is Nathan Wallis, Neuroscience Educator.

Nathan is a former lecturer in human development at Canterbury University joined Ryan Bridge to have his say, and he believes parents should stay home and be with their kids.
