Pfizer and German partner BioNTech are the first drugmakers to release successful data from a large-scale clinical trial of a coronavirus vaccine.
The companies say they have so far found no serious safety concerns and expect to seek US authorization this month for emergency use of the vaccine.

The New Zealand Government signed a deal with Pfizer and BioNTech in October to secure 1.5 million doses – enough for 750,000 people – provided it successfully completes all clinical trials and passes regulatory approval by Medsafe.
