How a 10 yeard old is trying to fix a NZ water problem...

WATCH: 10 year old Lilah McDonald has been on a mission since 2019 to get more drinking fountains installed in our communities.

Auckland only has fountains in 5% of its parks and NZ nationwide only has 20% of its playgrounds with drinking fountains.

She started a business called Water Us Limited… and launched a Pledge Me campaign earlier this month to raise money for fountains.

Water Us is selling eco-friendly toilet paper (in paper packaging designed by well known NZ artist, Reuben Paterson), with 50% of the profits going to buy drinking fountains for our parks and playgrounds. The other 50% will be reinvested back into the business to grow it further and generate more donations.

Danny Watson & Leah Panapa talk to Lilah about the project on their show. Catch them every weekday 12pm-4pm on Magic Talk.
