LISTEN: If you’re a parent of young children, are you planning to get them vaccinated?
A government-commissioned survey has found that a third of parents are unsure about it.
MedSafe has not yet approved the vaccine for 5 to 11-year-olds but is expected to do so by January.
COVID-19 educator Dr Morgan Edwards says while some parents are hesitant, most are not.
“With regards to that particular survey, I think it’s important to look at the fact that two-thirds of parents aren’t hesitant,” she told Lloyd Burr Live.
The survey was conducted in late October/early November, which Dr Edwards says was before it was even approved for rollout in the United States.
“It was back before it was being used anywhere which I think is really significant to keep it in that context as well.”
