A mother says Willie Nelson's music is what saved her little girl's life after she endured 12 surgeries in 15 months.
Four-year-old Ava underwent several surgeries after it emerged that she had necrotizing enterocolitis, a type of bowel condition.
It was Willie Nelson's country music that got her through, her father told KFDA.
"We would start playing music for her on a daily basis. And when I would play the old country music, she would respond well to it. And so we started playing it all the time, and she loved it."
He continued on to say that, "any time she was having a bad day, you could play Willie Nelson or Johnny Cash or Ray Price and her stats would come up, she would start doing better just almost immediately."
Her love for Willie Nelson grew so strong during her time in hospital that she even had a Willie Nelson doll!
The Adams family hope to one day share their gratitude with Willie, and have since sent him this message:
"You have no clue how many times you've actually saved our daughter's life. There were times where her heart rate was just incredibly low. She was pretty cardiac, she was not doing well. She spent so long in there and it was such a long road, but actually just playing that music for her really, really did change and save her life."
