The Very Vintage Day Out, now in its seventh year and is a celebration of all things vintage from 1930's through to the late 1960's
Where: Pavilion 6, ASB Showgrounds, 217 Greenlane West Road, Auckland
When: Saturday, 3rd & Sunday, 4th November
from 10am to 4pm
The vintage movement in New Zealand is substantial and growing rapidly. It is made up of a diverse community of like-minded individuals who are independent and passionate about pin up, tattoo art, vintage inspired and retro fashion, rockabilly, swing & rock & roll, vintage & classic vehicles and hot-rods & muscle cars.
Spread over the single level of pavilion 6 and with onsite car parking there will be loads of vendors in attendance with a huge range of retro and vintage inspired products and food on sale to tempt those with a passion for the past.
This unique event is set to attract attendees from all over the country which reflects the thriving communities of retro and vintage life style followers throughout New Zealand.
There are four key areas of visitor engagement within the event:
- The Miss Pin Up New Zealand Beauty Pageant 2018
This beauty pageant attracts entrants from across the country and is a celebration of feminine individuality and strength. From the pool of entrants ten finalists will be selected for the 2018 pageant by the judging panel and will be put through their paces on Saturday and Sunday as the judges determine who will be crowned Miss Pin Up New Zealand 2018.

- Bake Off
The Very Vintage Bake Off is a baking competition where entrants register then bake any or all of the three categories of home baking and bring the freshly baked entries along to the event for display and judging on Sunday 4th Nov with great prize packs on offer.
- Photo Safari
The very Vintage Photo Safari is a photographic competition held at the event where photographers and Pin Up models register to enter, then during the event they rotate between the eight photo safari shoot locations on site and take photos of the models for entry into the competition. One week after the event submissions close. Results will be announced two weeks after the event on the Very Vintage website and Facebook page. This year we have some great prizes for the winning photographers and models.
- Dress Making competition
New to the VVDO engagement line up this year is an opportunity for everyone that loves to sew to enter our first dressmaking competition.
A full programme of entertainment is booked on the main stage for both days with live band Boom Boom Deluxe, Retro and Vintage Inspired Fashion Shows by New Zealand designers and Best Dressed competitions with fabulous prizes.
- Tiki Bar
Our themed and fully licenced Tiki Bar will be open from 11am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday and will be the venue for the Vendor Networking Session on Friday evening.
- Vehicle Display
Vintage and classic cars will be on display along with muscle cars and hot-rods.
This is a family friendly ticketed event, (children under 12 free with an accompanying adult).
