LISTEN: To mark what has been a roller-coaster of a year from COVID to politics and everything in between Peter Dunne joined Leah Panapa on Magic Mornings to discuss this year's best and worst in show.
When asked who Dunne thought was the worst performing MP of the year, he had no issues holding back on this particular minister.
"I think this is one minister who's shown herself pretty consistently to be out of her depth on a major portfolio" Dunne said.
"And that's Carmel Sepuloni. Even this weeks story about not knowing or claiming not to know about the payment to those accommodation venues for people"
"I just think there's a, you know, if the PM's going to do a reshuffle, she should be a prime candidate for a lesser role." Dunne concluded.
When asked who he thought was one of the better performing politicians of 2021, Dunne said though his choice may 'surprise' some, that his pick was now National deputy leader Nicola Willis.
"I think the most impressive politician during this year, and I do so for the reasons of consistency has been Nicola Willis.
"She's been a vocal performer for the National Party when it was really in its direst moments. She's been consistently, I think, positive and enthusiastic, and now she's the deputy leader, providing the balance to Chris Luxon. So for me, she's the star performer of the year, and I think it's only onwards and upwards for her."
