Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel met back in grade school when they both appeared in a production of Alice in Wonderland, and by 16 the duo had began recording together.
Taking to a popular TV show for inspiration for their name, Tom & Jerry, the band played throughout high school under the alias, releasing many songs.
In 1957, one song that the two released as 16-year-olds managed to climb as high as #49 on the Billboard singles chart, which is an incredible effort for teenagers to accomplish at the time.
The song was called "Hey, School Girl."
